Did you know that April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month? This past Sunday, guest preacher Staci Stought brought a powerful word rooted in our ELCA social statement on child protection, speaking directly to survivors of child maltreatment. Our denomination declares: "We are convinced that neither your trauma, nor your pain, nor your grief, nor the injustice done to you, nor the sin of adults around you, nor your anger, nor your doubt, nor your fear can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. You were created in God's own image, and you remain God's beloved child."
